Beginning with his first job, and during his trade school education in Waco, Texas, Scott's hard work and determination over the last 30 years are evident in every project. "It was a great day when I found Scott, from North Country Building. He did a tremendous job for us on our first project and we would highly recommend him to anyone...actually we already have! We had a very large deck that was poorly constructed, tired and needed totally replacing and we took the opportunity to refresh the look and go more maintenance free. Scott finished a stunning deck for us with 3 sets of stairs and multiple levels with easy to use gates from the top level to keep the kids in when we wanted. The workmanship is excellent, and the finish is simply stunning. The price was fair and what we discussed with no surprises. We hired North Country Building of Crosslake to remodel our cabin. This involved a complete make-over of a more than 35 year old structure and also doing some needed additions. The property is located within the Crosslake city limits; it had to satisfy all codes and permits required by the city and Crow Wing County inspections. Since we live 360 miles from the construction site, this required frequent detailed communications between the construction superintendent and us, the owners of the property. We needed someone that we could rely on, and Scott Johnson was the right man for the job. He understands what good construction is all about: sense of quality, that doing it right the first time saves money, knowing the local trades people who can do the job in a workmanlike manner. He has a pleasant disposition and above all is trustworthy.
Our project began in the fall, work progressed during the off-season months, and it was completed the following spring, ready for use by the start of summer. This was a great plan!
